About the Organization

Advances Learning Center ( is dedicated to providing outstanding educational services to children with autism-spectrum and related disorders using scientifically - validated teaching methods. Our teaching and consultation is informed by the current educational research. We collaborate with all members of the child's team to ensure generalization and functional use of new skills. We offer ABA Consultation and 1:1 services, social skills groups and assessments and other services.

About the Position

This is a 20 hour/week practicum placement that may include indirect hours. Indirect hours are not guaranteed and will be unpaid. Direct hours will include home-based 1:1 services (ABA Instructor) and/or assisting/leading groups in our social skills group program (Group Assistant or Leader). The ABA Instructor, Group Assistant, and Group Leader will work with individuals with special needs under the close supervision and guidance of a certified BCBA. We are looking for punctual and reliable people who are creative, animated, and can make learning fun while sticking to the procedures. Home-based sessions are typically held at the client's home during late afternoon (3:30-5:30pm), evening (6:00-8:00pm), and/or weekend hours on 2-6 days a week. Social skills groups are held at the office in Watertown Tuesday-Saturday.
Eligible candidates must be willing to commit for at least a year.

    Job Requirements

    • A bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited university and one year of direct relevant experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs.
      OR An associate’s degree and a minimum of two years of relevant direct service experience working with youth and families who require behavior management to address mental health needs is required for some caseloads.
    • ABA Instructors will be supervised by a BCBA and will be working in a client's home, so a reliable car is essential.
    • At least 2 references provided must be Supervisors
    • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
