New Town is located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in western North Dakota. Fort Berthold is the home of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara people. 89% of the students enrolled in school are of American Indian descent. The poverty rate is 65%. We face many challenges as we provide the best possible educational opportunities to our 925 students that we have in grades K-12. The New Town community is located in the heart of the current oil boom in North Dakota.
