The Position
The Episcopal Academy seeks a dynamic Middle and Upper School Mandarin teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative candidate to cultivate the growing interest in our Chinese language and culture program. We offer an introductory, 3-year sequence in Middle School and continue with honors and AP levels in Upper School. A member of our lively and diverse World Languages department, this teacher will join a student-centered faculty committed to teaching excellence, collaboration, and pedagogical growth.

About You
1. Enthusiastic about teaching Middle and Upper School students the Chinese language
2. Excited by opportunities to share Chinese language and culture with broader school community, and to participate in school life beyond the classroom
3. Uses open communication to maintain ongoing dialogue with students, colleagues, and families
4. Employs engaging classroom pedagogies in both longer and shorter class meetings, as required in our daily schedule
5. Experience developing a logical, thoughtfully-sequenced curriculum
6. Pedagogical commitment to speaking in target language, and to teaching both written characters and pinyin
Training and Experience
? Master of Arts in Chinese Language or equivalent degree viewed favorably
? Three years' experience teaching Chinese language and culture to English-speaking students.
