TERM:                        9 Months


Position Purpose:  The Coordinate Programs Violin teacher is responsible for preparing curriculum, teaching violin and creating a dynamic learning environment for students in Junior Kindergarten through grade 12.


Essential Functions:  

  • Plan daily classroom work based on the curriculum requirements
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet student’s varying needs
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction that provides students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate violin music
  • Demonstrate an understanding of developmental stages of children
  • Establish and communicate objectives to students and parents
  • Communicate with parents regarding the progress of their students through the year
  • Keep organized information regarding lessons which students have already taken and the number of lessons still to be taken during any particular block of time
  • Develop and Communicate individual schedules to parents and students
  • Work with Classroom and After School teachers to ensure that students get to practice sessions
  • Work with After School teachers to plan and coordinate recital and use of space throughout the school year
  • Collaborate with teachers and other special area teachers in order to maintain a professional culture
  • Other various duties as assigned


  • Bachelor degree or post graduate work in related subject
  • At least three years of experience in teaching violin
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility when working with students and communicating with parents

  • Ability to relate and interact with a varied group of people
  • Energetic and eager to engage actively with students, colleagues and parents
  • Ability to work in a highly interactive environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges and changes
  • Ability to get students ready for recital
