The Student Transition Support Specialist seeks to assure equal educational opportunities, prevent truancy and dropout and promote respect and dignity for all students. The Student Transition Support Specialist utilizes knowledge of human behavior, social, cultural and community influences to help create a positive learning climate. Efforts are focused on coordination of services between schools, families and communities in order to assist students improve their academic and social success.
The position will be at the alternative education site providing supportive services for students while at that program, and transition support as they return to the home school.
The minimal requirement is a Master's degree of social work from an accredited school. The preferred candidate will have earned a Master's of social work and have at least three years of related experience.
Range for the 2017-2018 school year is $41,400 to $74,801 with supplemental pay for a graduate degree. Salary will be prorated due to the late start.
