POSITION: Campus Police Officer
REPORTS TO: Direct Supervisor
Applicants must be 21 years of age Must be a U.S. citizen
Must possess a high school diploma or GED
Must possess exemplary written and verbal communication skills
Be capable of thinking quickly and creative problem-solving skills
Be capable of interaction with a diverse, highly-educated population
Be able to be certified as a police officer under Kansas law
Be flexible, service-oriented objective outlook and commitment to customer service
Previous law enforcement/security experience with educational, healthcare, or government protective service
Able to be certified as a police officer under Kansas law
Some college education
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Able to organize and prioritize work
Able to work effectively independent of direct supervision
Able to manage multiple tasks in an environment that includes frequent interruptions
Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Able to operate standard office software
Other requirements as assigned by supervisor.
Must be capable of meeting physical and psychological needs of position
Must possess hand-finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
Must be able to perform the following actions: lift, stoop, bend, run, wallk, reach, and other responsibilities not limited to those outlined in this description.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be determined and approved by the Board of Education.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
