Job Description

RSU #16 and Elm Street School is seeking a Licensed Social Worker to join its team located in Mechanic Falls, Maine. The successful candidate will need provided specific social work to individual students, in Elm Street School addressing the students’ social-emotional and behavioral needs. Additional support for other students may be carried out in the following ways: Engage in positive conflict resolution between families and schools, Provide consultation/staff development to school personnel in areas of need, Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner, Conduct formal/informal student assessments and Coordinate services with outside agencies as necessary.

Applicants for this position must either have degree(s) required in major area of study; (#075 ME DOE endorsement or a LCSW or LCPC licensure); experience in the subject area(s) to be assigned; demonstrated positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues; and evidence of a strong desire to work with elementary-age youth.

    Elm Street School, located in Mechanic Falls, serves 303 students in grades PK-6. Elm Street School is located close to Lewiston-Auburn as well as Gray/New Gloucester. Elm Street School has approximately 60 classroom teachers, educational technicians and Specialists that provide a plethora of services to meet the needs of the student body. Some of those services include Title I Literacy & Math, Gifted and Talented Programming, School Counseling, Library, Art, Music and Physical Education. Elm Street School also invites students in grades 5 & 6 to participate in band and students in grades 4, 5 & 6 to participate in a Math Team and/or Civil Rights Team.     Job Requirements
