Description: Provide maintenance of the Library/Media Center including but not limited to circulation, cataloging, inventory, repair, and supervision of library volunteers and students. Under guidance of grade level teachers, expose students to quality literature and literacy skills to support academic achievement and classroom curriculum. Runs and assists library programs such as reading incentives and OBOB.
Requirements: Associates degree or minimum 72 college credits. Knowledge of general operation of library/media center automated circulation system. Experience working with and teaching children in a school environment, ability to run library computer programs, use email, strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, professionalism, ability to manage small and large groups of students safely, creating warm and caring media environment for them. Willingness to learn new technology skills, coachable and ability to work well with others. Employment contingent upon fingerprinting.
Qualifications Desired: Experience working in a library and/or a public school setting, knowledge and appreciation of children’s literature, strong organizational skills, experience working with elementary age children, and familiarity with library circulation software (Follett).
