Successful experience in directing vocal music program
Knowledge and willingness to build into teaching practices and curriculum National, State, and Jeffco Music Standards using curriculum documents.
Previous successful secondary school teaching experience in vocal music
Flexibility to teach music theory, guitar or other music classes
Willingness to work with performing art department on spring musical
Demonstration of effective classroom management skills
Demonstration of strong vocal music pedagogy
Has experience teaching a wide variety of music and styles
Performs on voice and piano with musical understanding and technical proficiency
Demonstrate of knowledge and understanding of recruitment in building a successful vocal program
Demonstrate willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a K-12 music articulation area
Demonstrate willingness to work with and maintain a strong relationship with the music booster organization
Demonstrate willingness to work as a school team member, e.g. musical, pep band, madrigals, and other school -wide events
1. Must hold a valid Colorado teaching license or authorization.
2. Must meet content-area qualifications, which could include the appropriate license endorsement, degree in the content area, Colorado State Board of Education-approved content exam, or 36 credit hours as determined by the district.
