Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding, highly qualified candidates for a full-time temporary Special Education Teacher--Behavior Support at Two Rivers - Dos Rios Elementary School and Maple Elementary.
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications that support our District vision “Every Student a Graduate Prepared for a Bright and Successful Future”:
Valid Oregon teaching license with Special Education/Elementary School endorsement
Experience and understanding of multi-tiered systems of support in academics and behavior such as Response to Intervention (RtI) and Positive Behavioral Intervention Strategies (PBIS)
Understanding of meaningful inclusion for students with disabilities, and experience collaborating with and advising general education teachers on inclusive practices
Experience with formal data-based decision-making practices at the classroom and building level
Ability to provide individual or small group instruction
Ability and commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate respect for diversity
Ability to plan and teach special individualized programs for students
Ability to develop individualized educational plans (IEPs) for all identified students
Ability to conduct functional behavioral assessments
Experience with developing behavioral support plans for students that require intensive supports
Ability to work closely with staff and parents to improve the student education process
Demonstrated ability to establish a sound system of classroom management
Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and community
Experience working positively with Special Education students
Ability to supervise instructional assistants where provided
Positive and effective communication and collaboration skills desired
