Who We Are
We’re aspiring teachers committed to joining San Francisco’s first
district-sponsored credentialing program. We serve San Francisco’s
classrooms where we’re needed most. If you are committed to charting a
new future for San Francisco’s students,
SFUSD (San Francisco Unified School District) Pathway to Teaching is a
cohort of inspiring educators focused on equity and achievement in the San
Francisco classrooms where they are needed most. During a year of teaching,
coaching and community-building, they learn to forge relationships in their
schools and develop rigorous, culturally relevant curriculum that will
prepare students to live, thrive, and succeed in San Francisco and beyond.
SFUSD is the seventh largest school district in California, every year
serving more than 55,000 students who speak more than 44 documented
languages in our 131 schools across the city of San Francisco. SFUSD’s
strategic plan, “
Transform Learning. Transform Lives
places access and equity, student achievement, and accountability at the
forefront of every child’s education.
Who We Want
We're looking for accomplished professionals and recent college graduates
who possess the skills and deep content knowledge to teach critical
subjects where great teachers are often in short supply. For the 2018-19
school year, we are recruiting teachers who are interested in teaching in
Bilingual Spanish or Special Education classrooms. We will also have a
limited number of elementary general education positions.
You love San Francisco and you’re already making a difference in a school,
a community program, or around the neighborhood. You know that many
potentially great teachers don’t have the ability to spend years retraining
for a new career. This is your pathway to teaching: affordable, inclusive
and inspiring. It will be challenging, but with the support of the
district’s best training, you will be leading your own San Francisco
classroom—and earning your teaching credential along the way.
