TITLE: Database Specialist
PAY GRADE: Classified Salary Schedule
SUPERVISOR: Director of Technology
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 days per year. Works on-site according to designated schedule.
Minimum four-year college degree with completed coursework in database design, programming and development. Five years' experience with K-12 education management system: student, food service, textbook, finance, human resources and interoperability with other systems. Three to five years' experience with Skyward is preferred. Knowledge of SQL and SQL management tools and scripting. Knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems and web browsers. Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, Clever. High level of detail and exceptional customer experience skills. Valid state driver's license is required for travel between district school buildings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to parents, students, and other employees of the District by phone and in person. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to make minor computer repairs, such as replacing and upgrading internal components, and installing software. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work in a friendly manner and to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements, Board of Education policies, and applicable State and Federal laws.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 35% sitting, 30% walking, and 35% standing. While most duties are performed indoors, the employee may be required to perform duties outdoors in various types of weather, including inclement weather with temperatures at or below freezing for extended periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee frequently interacts with students and staff.
