Job Description

? Valid Idaho Certificate with appropriate endorsement for assigned position.
? Documentation (HOUSSE Rubric and/or Praxis Exam) of Highly Qualified for the position.
? Be able to read, write and speak fluently in English and be able to facilitate communication in the home language of the migrant parents and/or student
? Be familiar with language and customs of migrant populations
? Previous experience working with children preferred
? Ability to perform duties in accordance with general educational ethical requirements of the Jerome School District and the State Department of Education

? Meet and instruct students at designated times and locations.
? Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
? Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
? Adapt subject material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge pupils
? Adapt the curriculum to provide individual, small group or remedial instruction to meet the needs of the individual pupil.
? Participate in curriculum, developmental programs and student activities.
? Complete appropriate reporting requirements in a timely manner.
? Evaluate and suggest revisions to the program, as needed.
? Collaborate with Regional ID&R coordinator on a weekly basis to help with the identification of eligible migrant students in the district.
? Complete Certificate of Eligibility as soon as possible upon registration of migrant students per state and federal guidelines.
? Assist the district migrant director in involving migrant parents to be active participants in the education of their children. This includes active participation in the district Migrant Parent Advisory Committee.
? Refer migrant families to appropriate health, social, and/or legal services in order to meet the needs of the migrant student’s successful participation in school.
? Prepare and maintain an on-going Family Liaison log or other form of written documentation, which reflects major Family Liaison activities.
? Share information on eligibility of migrant families with preschool programs where appropriate.
? Network with other agencies providing services to migrant student to ensure a coordinated service-delivery system.
? Make home visits to determine the reason for student absence within three working days from the last day of attendance.
? Actively and dynamically maintain records and complete reports as required by State and Federal Guidelines, Title Reviews, and as directed by Federal Program Director.
? Any other duties as directed by the District Migrant Director.
