JOB SUMMARY
To assist the district in providing a special education program that is sensitive to the needs of all students. To effectively assess pupils' learning characteristics and design appropriate instructional plans in order to enable each pupil to maximize his or her learning potential.

    Job Requirements

    • MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
      Instruction and Student Services
      1.Provide intervention and planning through direct consultation with individuals and teams concerning instruction, curriculum, assessment, modifications, and accommodations
      2.Lead case manager for all Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams
      3.Assess the academic proficiency and learning characteristics of each pupil referred to the child study team for evaluation and interpret the findings in written reports and informal conferences
      4.Perform all duties required as a member of the child study team by federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy
      5.Coordinate individual student-related activities to meet the needs of an individual student being served by more than one service agency
      6.Assist in coordinating contracted services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and psychological services
      7.Serve as a case manager and maintain appropriate case records
      8.Participate in the ongoing assessment of academic achievement and educational placement of pupils requiring special education services
