?Minimum High School diploma / AA degree preferred
?Meet the Highly Qualified requirements set by Federal and State guidelines:
?Successful completion of a formal State Para Professional Assessment Test, or
?Complete an Associate Degree or higher, or
?Complete two years of college with a minimum of 32 credits
?Previous experience working with children preferred
?Ability to perform duties in accordance with general educational ethical requirements of the Jerome School District and the State Department of Education
DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES
?Provide and/or assist with appropriate supervision for children on the playground in various weather conditions, bus lines, lunch rooms, and other assigned areas and during emergency drills, assemblies, and field trips as directed.
?Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
?Assist the teacher in implementing special strategies planned for reinforcing material or skills
?Alert the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student.
?Serve as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
?Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentially of information about students as is expected of fully certified teachers.
?Exhibit adequate communication skills (i.e. telephone, written messages, public relations, etc.)
?Operate and care for equipment as needed.
?Other duties as may be assigned.
