•(SET’s) work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities. They adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects like reading, writing and math, to students with mild and moderate disabilities. They also teach basic skills like literacy and communication techniques, to students with severe disabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Prevention of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities of students.
•Assessment of students’ disabilities and provide education lessons and teach various subjects, such as reading, writing and math, to students with mild and moderate disabilities and teach basic skills, such as literacy and communication techniques to students with severe disabilities.
•Schedule and Conduct ARD meetings to ensure development and placement of individuals.
•Assist in acquiring contracted service providers as needed.
•Schedule REED (Review of Exiting Evaluation Data).
•Development and implementation of IEPs.
•Collaboration with teachers, families and other professionals.
•Evaluation of the results of comprehensive assessments.
•Assist the campus administrator with the response to intervention process.
•Compile and maintain all reports, records, and other documents required by Law/Director of Special Education.
